Transformers Beast Wars Neo Black Big Convoy

A redeco of Big Convoy, Black Big Convoy transforms into a mammoth and is somewhat infamous for being an extremely difficult-to-transform shellformer, as practically all of his beast mode components are shells that fit around the compressed robot to form this mode. As such, he has no leg articulation in this mode, though he has a rubber trunk which can be controlled by pushing a lever on the top of his head. In addition, the movement of his tusks can be controlled by pulling either of his ears. Black Big Convoy technically has a beast "attack mode", in which his Big Cannon is folded out.

Transformers G1 JAFCON Black Optimus Prime

Released concurrently with the 2000 reissue of the original Generation 1 Optimus Prime toy, this black redeco of the original Prime was available exclusively at the Japanese convention JAFCON. Everything about it is black, including all of the Combat Deck and Roller.

Transformers Nucleon Quest Super Convoy

This redeco of the Ginrai tooling of the Powermaster Optimus Prime figure (released concurrently with the 2001 reissue of the Ginrai figure) was a Toys R Us Japan exclusive black repaint, made to represent the original Optimus Prime equipped for a special mission. All of his red and blue plastics were changed to black, his clear blue windows were now tinted red, making his overall colour scheme very reminiscent of the now-familiar 'Black Convoy' color schemes.

Transformers Masterpiece MP01-B Black Convoy Version

A redeco of 20th Anniversary/Masterpiece Optimus Prime, "Convoy Black Version" sports the traditional black, grey, teal and red "Nemesis Prime" color scheme, despite not actually being an evil character. The toy is exceptionally poseable, partially constructed from die-cast metal, features rubber tires and vacuum-metalized plastic, and is heavily detailed, with sliding pistons in its joints and working, spring-loaded suspension in vehicle mode. The figure also contains multiple non-intrusive gimmicks, such as a moving mouthplate, flip-up communications panels on the forearms depicting images of Rodimus Prime and Optimus Prime himself, and an opening Matrix chamber in the chest that lights up with a red LED and contains a removable, purple vacuum-metalized Matrix of Leadership, which can also be pulled open to reveal the red crystal at its center.

Other accessories are his traditional ion blaster, a transparent red energon-axe that plugs into either wrist when the toy's fist is retracted, a non-transforming gun-mode Megatron weapon with removable stock, silencer and scope accessories, and a fold-up cardboard trailer to "complete" the figure's vehicle mode.

Transformers ROTF Amazon Exclusive Black Convoy

An exclusive to Amazon.co.jp bundled with the Japanese release of the Revenge of the Fallen DVD, this redeco of Optimus Prime is another in a long line of black repaints, swapping most of his red and blue plastic for black, some of his bright grey plastic for a cool grey and blue, covered with gold and silver flames. His orange blades are now translucent blue. Despite being a black repaint, the figure's color scheme homages Leader class Jetfire rather than any previous black Optimus Prime figure.

Transformers Beast War II Black Lio Convoy

A redeco of Lio Convoy, Black Lio Convoy sports the now-familiar black, silver and teal color scheme which was later used for Robots in Disguise Scourge, Armada Nemesis Prime and many, many other 'evil' Optimus Prime repaints. There is also a variant of this toy that comes with gold claws, which is harder to find than the normal version.

Transformers Dark Nitro Convoy

A redeco of Override, Dark Nitro Convoy transforms into a sleek Velocitronic race car. The rear section reveals flip-out (non-firing) blaster barrels when you insert a Cyber Planet Key into it; this assembly becomes Dark Nitro's rifle in robot mode. Transformation from car to robot is partially automatic, the torso and arms automatically swinging into position once the springs are released.

Dark Nitro Convoy comes with a fairly unique Cyber Planet Key. Though it is a gold-bordered Velocitron-style Key, it is cast from colorless clear plastic, like the clear-plastics on the main toy. It is unknown if this is a gang-molding issue, or if Dark Nitro was given a specifically color-changed separate-mold Key.

He was only available through a mail-away offer in TV Magazine in Japan.

Transformers Micron Legend / Armada Scourge

In Japan, Nemesis Prime was only available as a mail-away item from TV Magazine (limited to 5000 pieces) under the name Scourge, a nod to Hasbro's Robots in Disguise Scourge. There are a number of small but significant differences between Hasbro and Takara's versions of the toys; the Hasbro version uses a bluer version of off-black and a sandy-tan color rather than the Takara version's more brownish-black and neutral light gray. The Hasbro version also appears to have a larger number of paint applications in a wider variety of colors.
